Delphi Island is an island belonging to Sri Lanka located in the middle of the Pok Strait, at the western end of the Jaffna Peninsula of Sri Lanka, 80 km from the Indian mainland, 42 km from Thalaimannar and Rameswaram.
Its area is about 43 square kilometers and the circumference of the island is about 27 km. This island is the nearest inhabited land from Ceylon towards India except Talaimannaram Island. (Kachchathiv is not inhabited by people throughout the year).
To reach Delphi, more than a hundred people at a time are transported to the island by two large boats, the 'Naduntaraki' and the 'Vadataraki' of the Navy. Including those two boats, there are about five boat trips from 'Kurikaduan Jetty' to Delft.

The entire island rests on a layer of limestone. The island has no fenced walls and is surrounded by limestone walls on each side. This island, which also has a beautiful beach, is complemented by lush palm trees that add a breathtaking view. Once a haven for migratory birds, this island also becomes a bird's paradise.
